Our Co-Founders

The Origami Factory was started by two people who had a passion for martial arts, and a drive to see the next generation reap the benefits of a lifetime of experience.

After great discussion and sharing of ideas, Douglas and Aaron believed they could merge old methods with modern application. Seeing how martial arts has been traditionally taught, they identified the gaps in how this information was passed on, combined with the most modern and proven education techniques, they developed a programme and system that allowed them to rapidly develop the characters of their students, as well as their martial arts skills.

This methodology, called the 3D method (Discover, Develop, Demonstrate), was designed with some of the U.K.'s top SEN teachers and child development specialist and has proven time and time again to be far more effective that traditional teaching methods.

Instructor Aaron

A practitioner of martial arts for 35 years, holder of 2 blackbelts and current purple belt in jiu jitsu, Aaron has spent almost all of his life practicing martial arts in one form or another.

Aaron has worked with hundreds of children, young people, and adults in Dubai for a decade. He has a particular desire to see those he teaches enjoy themselves and develop the same passion that he had and still maintains for martial arts.

One of the the things that interests him the most is child development and psychology. Teaching is it's own reward, but helping students to develop faster, retain more information and accelerate their personal development is what really drives Aaron in his instruction.

Aaron is constantly looking to innovate not only teaching methods, but the field of martial arts education, so that more students can make bigger advancements in less time.
