How we compile these pages

We work from primary sources wherever we can get them: peer-reviewed studies, official surveys from WHO, the OECD and KHDA, and government statistical releases. Where a primary report was not accessible to us, we cite the outlet that reported it and say so. Each page carries a methodology section listing what we included, what we left out, and the limits of the figures. Where the evidence is thin, we say that too.

These pages are updated when new figures are published, and each carries the date it was last updated at the top.
